About
I am Chris Dowson, a bilingual scientific communication specialist (English/French), specialising in writing, editing and support in scientific and professional English for institutions, research bodies and conservation-related organisations.
As a native English speaker based in France, I have over ten years’ experience supporting scientific and educational teams in producing clear, precise and internationally accessible content, with particular attention to clarity and impact.
I also work with individual researchers and scientists to strengthen their manuscripts, abstracts, presentations and professional communication in English, with focused work on structure, clarity and terminological consistency.
My work covers scientific reports, institutional documents and communication materials, as well as training in scientific and professional English.
All writing and editing services are provided in English, and translation services are offered from French into English.
I hold advanced academic training in biology and conservation, and have worked within institutions such as ZooParc de Beauval, as well as in contexts linked to biodiversity conservation, scientific mediation and international cooperation. This dual background — scientific and linguistic — enables me to engage deeply with subject matter while ensuring clarity, terminological rigour and effective communication.
I currently work with:
-
individual researchers and scientists
-
research and conservation teams
-
institutional and non-profit organisations involved in scientific or international projects
My approach emphasises:
-
scientific accuracy and clarity
-
communication adapted to institutional contexts
-
collaborative and sustainable working methods
-
conditions that support high-quality, thoughtful work
I offer services in scientific communication, specialised editing and translation from French into English, as well as targeted training in scientific and professional English, delivered on-site or remotely.
